WINSON CLARK: INTERVIEW
Interview by: A.M. Dewey
Choler:
How did you get started in art?
Winson:
Being an Army brat I have traveled a lot, and had plenty of time
to
use my imagination. Art is a way to express myself in ways I can
not verbally.
Choler:
What medium do you like the best, and the least?
Winson:
I like ceramics the best, pencil on the other hand tends to be
annoying.
Choler:
What artists do you look up to the most?
Winson:
I would say Edward Munch, James Ensor, and Titian. I plan to do
more sculptural medium.
Choler:
When growing what was the greatest force pushing you towards art?
Winson:
I really do not know.
Choler:
What non-visual art interest you and does this have an impact
on your
art?
Winson:
Music (the louder the better).
Choler:
There is a surreal tone and style to your work. Is this a direction
that you see more of your future work heading?
Winson:
The surreal tone in my work is simply a way to get away from becoming
a perfectionist. My work has improved since I have stopped trying
to be perfect. Because it can't happen.
